BLOUNT BENNETT ARCHITECTS, LTD., (BBA) has competed in the practice of architecture in the southern New England area since September 1987. Joe Blount and George Bennett began working together in 1968, gaining experience on a variety of projects, and complimenting each other’s strengths. Andrew Pearce joined the firm in 1997, advancing to Assistant Vice President in 2005. Together this team brings many years of experience to the table. The firm has been at the same East Providence location since its incorporation, and has employed from six to twelve people at any given time. The company has grown to its present level with an 80 to 85 percent repeat client base in office, retail, industrial, educational and residential projects. With the addition of St. Joseph Health Services to our client list, our experience now includes health care facilities.

Blount Bennett has a proven record of design success. Each project provides a new challenge, and an opportunity to expand the dynamic design process. Preconceived, inflexible designs simply are not brought to the table. At BBA we believe all parties should participate in the design development, including consultants, user groups, etc.; and we foster this process to develop a project-specific design to satisfy the criteria. Ownership of the project belongs to both the client and the architects, through educating the client to design principles. No decision is reached unilaterally without this team approach.

A Project Manager is assigned for the duration of each project. The PM directs the design team and works in collaboration with BBA Consultants to convey technical and administrative information to the client. Other key personnel are brought into the project as early as possible to provide continuity from inception to completion.

BBA is accustomed to providing and integrating all design disciplines, regardless of capacity for in-house services. This integration has taught us to work together with other professionals, and to appreciate the goals and constraints of their disciplines. Understanding and focusing on more pieces of the complete design greatly improves the design and coordination in each area of expertise.
